When we announced the launch of our MOTION Magazine – happening at the IAA Mobility in Munich from the 6th of September onwards – we were sure, that we would get a lot of attention. Two digital entrepreneurs ‘going Print’ really isn’t the most obvious route to take. But it was clear for us from the very beginning, that we would build a smart mobility platform with various access points for our readers - multimodal to stay in mobility ‘talk’. But how do you make this happen, when you haven’t (almost) done any print, the exception being my Doodle Productivity Book, I published with industry specialists a few years ago.

The answer to this potential dilemma is clear: you simply assemble the best team and surround yourself with talented people to produce an outstanding, multi-lingual Bookazine. Our MOTION Magazine. Selecting the best team starts with finding the right business professionals who shared our values and dreams for a smarter and more sustainable future in mobility. We are very proud, that we found partners that want to capture the lifestyle, emotional and environmental side of global mobility innovation like we do.

With Marlene and Patrick, we have two outstanding Designers from cool and hip Berlin. They’ve been both with us since day one as we worked together in launching our Digital Platform. They’ve been instrumental in creating the right design, look and feel for our brand from the beginning and with their know-how, we were at ease with adopting our branding to the offline design for MOTION Magazine. And there is more to come, as our Edition Zero really tests the waters, with an even more elaborated look coming with Edition One.

But how do you extend your content ideas into print format, that is appealing and challenging alike. The smart mobility revolution is in constant motion, and we needed partners to help us drive this momentum to our content as well. With Jan-Kirsten Biener from Nansen & Piccard and Christian Hanke from Eden Spiekerman we found the best content players, you can find in the smart mobility space. Jan and Christian, along with their global teams, worked with us to make Edition Zero of MOTION Magazine a highly inspiring work of content. They challenged us and our authors to bring out their best. Translations, lithography, the right legal elements – all this was done in an extremely challenging short timeframe. That reflects our authors’ outstanding job for Edition Zero.

Best example: one of our online authors, Elaine Catton, wrote a masterpiece on the latest developments in one of the leading countries in the world, when it comes to EV. She witnessed unseen information, interviewed specialists, and wrote her report accompanied by amazing images from one of Europe’s top photographers. MOTION is truly global when it comes to content creation, with our team for Edition Zero including people from Britain, the US, Germany, Italy and Australia. Here you go!

If you really want to change something, do not do it by yourself: collect the best team around you and allow ideas to float around, absorb the feedback and jointly create something unique. This is what happened over the past weeks in our team and we all can’t wait to share MOTION Magazine with you. Stay tuned!
