The lounge itself offers more than just fast charging. Plush seating, coffee, snacks, water, and high-speed Wi‑Fi make it a practical and comfortable stop for drivers. Porsche ID holders benefit from automatic gate access, while QR codes and the My Porsche app offer alternative entry. The Porsche Charging Plus plan allows up to 14 hours of free parking and AC charging under certain conditions, making it suitable for both short breaks and longer stops. The Himmelkron lounge combines efficiency and comfort, reflecting Porsche’s approach to EV infrastructure.

On the vehicle side, the Cayenne Electric debuted today, marking a major step in Porsche’s electric SUV lineup. It is offered in a high-performance variant with up to 850 kW (1,156 PS), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Its 113 kWh high-voltage battery is integrated into the vehicle’s structure, improving both energy density and structural rigidity, and a dual cooling system maintains optimal temperatures. Thanks to an 800‑volt architecture, the Cayenne Electric can charge at up to 390–400 kW, adding more than 300 km of range in just ten minutes. For the first time, wireless inductive charging is optionally available, allowing drivers to charge by simply parking over a floor plate. Recuperation is also advanced, with up to 600 kW possible through the electric motors, handling 97 percent of braking under normal conditions.

The interior introduces a Flow Display, Porsche’s largest curved display, integrating driver, passenger, and infotainment information, alongside AI-assisted voice commands and a digital key using ultra-wideband technology. Real-world testing shows the Cayenne Electric can cover up to 642 km (WLTP) on a full charge, with independent tests of near-production prototypes reaching 563 km at a steady 113 km/h on the highway.
Public reaction to the Cayenne Electric is mixed. Enthusiasts are impressed by the rapid charging, high power output, and wireless charging option. Some question the design choices or wonder how a fully electric Cayenne fits Porsche’s performance heritage. Regardless of the debate, the vehicle is drawing attention as a significant addition to the brand’s lineup.
Together, the Himmelkron Charging Lounge and the Cayenne Electric illustrate how Porsche is investing in both electric infrastructure and vehicles. The lounge provides a practical solution for fast, comfortable charging on long trips, while the Cayenne Electric delivers high performance, innovative technology, and long-range usability. Both developments reinforce Porsche’s continued expansion in the electric mobility space.
